FLINT, Mich. (WNEM) – A rash of violence in Flint is shining a light on the strain it can put on a hospital.
In the early hours of Sunday, July 27, Flint Police responded to four shootings within the span of a few hours. Several of the victims were rushed to Hurley Medical Center.
One doctor tells TV5 they tend to see more patients with gunshot wounds in the summer months, often several times a week.
“It’s ‘controlled chaos’ I think is the best way to describe it,” said Ryan Reece. He’s an assistant professor of emergency medicine who works at the hospital.
