Emergency Physicians Strike Today at Ascension St. John Hospital

The following statement from the Michigan College of Emergency Physicians (MCEP) is in response to ongoing negotiations between members of the Greater Detroit Association of Emergency Physicians and St. John Emergency Services – a group managed by TeamHealth.
 
Today, the Emergency Physicians of the Greater Detroit Association of Emergency Physicians are striking at Ascension St John Hospital. MCEP is dedicated to ensuring quality emergency care for all Michiganders and works to promote emergency medicine and inform patients and the public of critical issues impacting emergency care.  MCEP stands with our emergency physician members and colleagues as they fight to ensure that emergency physicians have the necessary resources to serve their patients 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.  We continue to encourage all parties involved to work together to reach an immediate resolution.
