The Michigan College of Emergency Physicians (MCEP) stands in support of those affected by the mass shooting incident at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Sunday, September 28, 2025 in Grand Blanc Township including some of our EM resident colleagues who were in attendance at the church at the time of the shooting.
Firearm injuries continue to be a significant public health issue in the United States. MCEP stands with the American College of Emergency Physicians in supporting research into public policies that may reduce the risk of all types of firearm-related injuries. We ask legislators, researchers, and the public to come together to implement expedient solutions to this ongoing public health crisis. MCEP must and will continue to work toward solutions to prevent events like this in the future.
Our hearts go out to the families of the victims of this tragedy, as well as those of you on the front lines. Thank you for what you do every day for your patients, our communities, and each other. The College commends you and is here to support you in any way that we can.
