Our beloved Executive Director for the past 24 years, Diane Kay Bollman, passed away on July 2nd, 2017.
Diane devoted a significant part of her professional life to the Michigan College of Emergency Physicians (MCEP), leading the efforts of emergency physicians and advocating for our patients. Diane was well known nationally and was a respected peer and mentor to many other state Chapters of the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP). At the same time, Diane’s heart and passion were strongly invested in Michigan and to the issues encountered in her home state.
MCEP will be donating to ACEP’s Emergency Medicine Foundation by purchasing a brick, which will be placed at ACEP headquarters near our founding father’s Dr. John Wiegenstein’s memorial brick, thereby honoring two legends from the State of Michigan.
Many years ago Diane started a foundation in Michigan in memory of Dr. John Wiegenstein, the Michigan Emergency Medicine Foundation (MEMF). The foundation serves to support research, scholarship, and the strategic goals of MCEP. In light of this we are holding a yearlong MEMF fundraiser in honor of Diane and her innumerable contributions to emergency medicine. We will announce the total amount raised and will recognize donors at the 2018 Michigan Emergency Medicine Assembly at the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island.
Thank you for considering a donation in honor of Diane.
