Diane Kay Bollman was inducted into the Michigan Association Hall of Fame

Diane Kay Bollman, CEO of the Michigan College of Emergency Physicians was inducted into the Michigan Association Hall of Fame at the 13th Annual Diamond Awards on September 17, 2014, hosted by the Michigan Society of Association Executives (MSAE).

Mrs. Bollman is being recognized because she has been a leading advocate for emergency medicine in Michigan in her mor
e than 20-year tenure and has doubled the membership of MCEP.  “Diane combines the best qualities of an inspirational servant leader and a future thinking strategic influencer to serve her association and industry as well as the greater association community, the Greater Lansing Community, and of course, her family”  states Nanette Pearson, CAE, CFO, Michigan Association of School Boards.

Dr. Earl Reisdorff, Executive Director of ABEM writes:  “What sets Diane apart is not only what she accomplishes, but how she tackles challenges.  She is missional in her approach to work and service.  She embraced high ideals, using an, “Is this the right thing to do?” standard in decision making.”

Diane is one of only seven members in the Hall of Fame currently employed and is listed among the top 34 association leaders in the State of Michigan. The Michigan Association Hall of Fame honors individuals who have excelled in the association management profession.  The inductees inspire individuals and students to consider careers in the association management profession and bring honor and recognition to the association industry.  Individuals selected to be part of the Michigan Association Hall of Fame will join a distinguished group who exemplify the very best in association management.

It is important for your voice to be heard in Lansing. HB 4354 will help limit liability for physicians practicing in an emergency situation.

This common sense bill is now moving through the Michigan House of Representatives. The goal is to hold down insurance costs by reducing inappropriate lawsuits and making it easier to defend cases that do go to court under certain circumstances.

This bill does not provide blanket immunity. But it will help us increase access to specialists for our patients, and provide an incentive for physicians to locate here in Michigan, ensuring those who need emergency care will be able to get it for years to come.

We’ve included a few points in the draft letter below. Please take a minute to review it, personalize it with your own experiences, and then send it to lawmakers.
