MCEP has been teaching bedside ultrasound courses since 2002 and has developed outstanding and enthusiastic faculty for each of its two ultrasound courses each year.  The Basic EM Ultrasound Course is a two-day course designed to cover most common emergency medicine ultrasound applications such as cardiac, trauma, aorta, OB/Gyn, Renal, and guided procedures such as central line placement.  The Critical Care Ultrasound Course is a one day course focusing on the use of ultrasound in critical care such as cardiopulminary, guidance of medical/trauma resuscitation, and ultrasound guided procedures.  The Critical Care Ultrasound Course is designed for emergency physicians, critical care intensivists, hospitalists, and trauma surgeons.  Both courses include training labs on both live models and simulated models.  No other ultrasound course offers a higher faculty to student ratio for individual training labs.

Course Highlights:

  • Small class size to facilitate discussion and questions (24)
  • Live Models with hands-on scanning
  • Scanning in small group setting with faculty instructors
  • Exposure to multiple ultrasound machine models
